Thom's best friend is Stoffel, an old Shetland pony. Wherever Thom goes, Stoffel trudges after him. Thom's father gives horse therapy to children who are different. Thom is a bit different too. He is almost 10 years old and is growing fast. Stoffel is 25 years old and is no longer growing. Can Thom still ride on Stoffel now that his legs have grown so long? Or should he choose a bigger horse?
